The purpose of the work is to develop effective means of computer design and optimization of operational characteristics of high-entropy alloys and composite materials based on them at the stage of designing the latest objects with a given set of properties. Research methods are physical-mathematical and computer modeling at the macro-level (mechanics of a solid medium), meso-level (methods of fractal geometry), micro-level (first-principle calculations, methods of molecular dynamics, nanocluster modeling). Concepts and principles of prognostic models for the study of operational properties for certain classes of materials by methods of computational experiments were developed and refined. Based on first-principle calculations, the possibility of synthesis of new carbide (TiZrHfV)C, nitride (TiZrHfV)N and carbide-nitride (TiZrHfV)C0.5N0.5 high-entropy ceramics was established.
