The goal of the work is to update, preserve and popularize the scientific natural heritage of the outstanding Ukrainian naturalist, teacher, linguist, writer, public figure, researcher of the Lemki language and folklore Ivan Verkhratskyi. Work methods – to achieve the set goal, generally accepted methods of digitization of natural collections were used, as well as the technical capabilities of the Web resource Data Center "Biodiversity of Ukraine". As a result of the implementation of the project, the availability of digital data of the author's collection for various target audiences has been ensured. In addition, thanks to the implementation of the project: 1) A card file of the identified, inventoried, categorized representative component of Ivan Verkhratskyi's collection of butterflies was created, which is 2060 storage units. 2) 2,060 records of inventoried butterflies from the collection of I. Verkhratskyi were entered into the "Biodiversity of Ukraine" Data Center. Digitized representative part of Ivan Verkhratsky's collection of butterflies, which is 2060 storage units. 3) A virtual gallery of I. Verkhratskyi's collection of butterflies was created and published in the web resource of the Biodiversity Center of Ukraine and a virtual collection on the page of the DPM of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. 4) An electronic catalog of a representative component of the collection of butterflies of I. Verkhratsky was published. 5) A booklet was developed and printed to popularize the research "Digitalization of the historical butterfly collection of Ivan Verkhratskyi". 6) A conversation-meeting dedicated to the digitization of natural museum funds was held.
