Methods: cytological, biochemical, hematological, statistical. Aim: to investigate the quality of erythrocyte-containing transfusion products from the blood of donors who were in the war zone (at the manufacturing stage). The initial quality parameters of erythrocyte-containing components from the blood of donors who were in the war zone have been determined. Screening characteristics of donors' health have been studied (according to the data of general blood analysis, functional liver state, iron metabolism, as well as pro-antioxidant homeostasis in venous blood). Comparative studies of the health indicators of wartime and prewar donors (according to archival data), as well as data on the quality of packed red blood cells (PRBCs), collected in different time periods, have been carried out. PRBs were divided into three groups according to the time periods of donations (the first group - donations for 2023, the second - archival material of the peacetime period, but in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic (from 2020 to February 23, 2022); ІІІ-а - archival material of primary donors of peacetime 2006-2007) and examined on the 1st day of storage in hypothermic conditions (at a temperature of 2-6 °С). Identified differences in oxidative metabolism indicators were significant (p < 0.005). Such indicators as the RBCs content, free hemoglobin, pH did not have statistically significant intergroup differences in the samples of the first and the second groups. Data analysis has been started to identify regularities regarding the individual sensitivity of harvested RBCs to standard long-term hypothermic storage conditions. Dependence on special characteristics of donors, which may be related to their stay in the combat zone, is researching. Medical and social effect. Medicine.
