The object of the research is the physical culture and sports movement in the Dnipropetrovsk region in the pre-war years (1923-1941). The subject of the study is the historical, organizational and methodological factors of the development of the physical culture and sports movement in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The purpose of the work is the formation of a system of scientific knowledge and its improvement from the historical aspects of the development of physical culture and sports in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Research methods. To solve the set goal, the following research methods were used: - analysis of scientific-methodical literature and program-normative documents (domestic and foreign sources); - analysis and synthesis of theoretical material; - systematic and historical (comparative-historical, historical-typological). During the reporting period, an analysis of literary sources, scientific-methodical literature, archival documents and program-normative materials was carried out on the planned topic, which provides an opportunity to reveal the historical foundations of the development of the physical culture and sports movement in the Dnipropetrovsk region in the 1920s. The regularities of the emergence, formation and development of the physical culture and sports movement in chronological sequence are revealed, and the features of its development at the beginning of the 20th century are analyzed. The historical aspects of the development of physical culture and sports in Katerynoslav region (Dnipropetrovsk region) in the 1920s were studied; the formation of the organizational foundations of the physical culture and sports movement in the period from 1917 to 1923 is considered; the role of sports clubs in Dnipropetrovsk region during this period is highlighted.
