The data of the input information for determining the main characteristics of the horses of the Polesie population and their selection and genetic parameters have been defined, substantiated and prepared. During the years 2021–2023, an annual examination of the horses of the Polesie population was carried out on the basis of the "Shcherbaty Tsugli" (Kievskyi region) according to the main breeding characteristics: type, exterior, measurements and temperament. Currently, the controlled herd of Polesie horses includes 23 horses, including 1 stallion and 7 mares. It was established that the animals typically correspond to the primary (original) type and the developed target standard. The studied herd of horses was characterized by a good development of the main parts of the body, a dry and strong constitution, sufficient development of muscle tissue and a calm, balanced temperament with a slight variability in the development of these characteristics (2.28 - 7.28%). In order to collect, process and store information about horses and their descendants, an automated Register of horses of the Ukrainian Polesie breed was created on the platform of the Microsoft Excel program, which contains individual information about 25 horses of the Ukrainian Polesie breed, which is being reconstructed. Based on the results of the research, scientific and technical products were developed: "Methodical recommendations for the evaluation and selection of horses of the Polesie population", "Program for the reconstruction of the Ukrainian Polesie horse breed" and the literary work "Catalog of Ukrainian Polesie horses".
