Activation of TRPV1 by eicosanoids through a signaling pathway coupled to surface muscarinic acetylcholine receptors has been found to contribute to cholinergic excitation of the bladder. It was established that the activation of the TRPC4 channel contributes to the initial phase of the development of carbacholin-activated contraction of human and rat HMD in normal and diabetic conditions.
