The aim of the study is to develop a technology for the formation of high productivity of pigs of domestic and foreign breeds, taking into account their adaptive capacity to changes in environmental conditions. Research methods - assessment of reproductive, fattening and meat qualities of animals was carried out by zootechnical methods; data processing was carried out by statistical methods. The influence of climatic parameters (average monthly air temperature and average air humidity) on the indicators of reproductive traits of sows was studied. Histological examinations of the skin and hair of breeding boars of the Poltava meat breed were carried out. The methodology for creating terminal boars was developed and the optimal variants of their combinations were determined. The ecological and genetic parameters - stability and plasticity of development and reproductive capacity of Large White pigs in the context of families and depending on the number of farrowings - were determined. The degree of phenotypic consolidation of developmental indicators and reproductive capacity of sow families of Large White, Poltava Meat and Red and White Belt breeds of meat pigs was determined. Selection indices for the selection of replacement gilts in basic farms were developed. The expediency of using stabilising selection to determine the adaptive capacity of pigs was established.
