The purpose of the work is to determine the influence of the processes of copper alloying of post-eutectoid graphitized steels, their modification with nitrogen and microalloying with vanadium on wear resistance under conditions of sliding friction and abrasive wear. Research methods - modern methods of researching the processes of structure formation of iron-based alloys alloyed with copper, determination of their wear resistance in various conditions and mechanical properties were used. The main regularities of the influence of copper alloying of pre-eutectoid graphitized steels with a carbon content of 1.1% to 1.5%, their modification with nitrogen and microalloying with vanadium on structure formation and wear resistance have been determined. A structural diagram of eutectoid steels with a carbon content of up to 2% and alloyed with copper up to 30% and composition-structure-wear diagrams were constructed. The conditions for the formation of friction pairs from graphitized steels of the third body from the copper phase on the worn surface have been determined. Nitrogen modification of graphitized steels with a content of 13% copper and their microalloying with vanadium doubles their wear resistance under conditions of dry sliding friction as a result of "solid lubrication" with copper, increases the strength of steels by 15% and increases the viscosity by 14% due to the dispersion of the micro- and substructure and dispersive vanadium nitride strengthening of the ferrite component structure. Based on the results of research, a new steel has been developed for the production of cast parts operating in conditions of sliding friction and abrasive wear.
