The purpose of the study is to substantiate the theoretical and methodological support for the formation of ways for Ukraine to escape the "backwardness trap". The object of the study is the process of the country's falling into the "backwardness trap" and the substantiation of ways to leave it. As a result of the research, the theoretical and methodological support for the formation of ways for Ukraine to exit from the "backwardness trap" was developed and deepened. The theoretical significance is the methodological basis for the scientific study of the peculiarities of the formation of the "backwardness trap" in Ukraine in retrospect and in the postwar period; theoretical provisions of the study of the problem of recognizing "backwardness traps" in the country's economy; a structural and logical scheme of scientific research on the problem of substantiating ways for Ukraine to leave the "backwardness trap"; a draft concept of Ukraine's way out of the "backwardness trap". The practical significance lies in the developed structure of the country's backwardness trap and a well-founded system of indicators for determining the "backwardness trap" based on interrelated blocks, each of which has a list of indicators that identify various problematic aspects of the process of Ukraine's falling into the "backwardness trap", as well as in the developed scenarios for Ukraine's exit from the "backwardness trap". The results of scientific research are aimed at increasing the level of scientific validity of management decisions in the field of sustainable, crisis-free development of Ukraine in the post-war period.
