A mathematical model was created and the minimum catalyst layer was calculated for the primary conversion of 50% of the fuel mixture. Thus, when the thickness of the catalyst layer increases, which provides a greater degree of methane conversion than 50%, the temperature of flue gases decreases and carbon monoxide emissions increase. Conversely, a decrease in the thickness of the catalyst layer leads to an increase in the flue gas temperature and an increase in the NOx concentration. Experimental and industrial samples of flat and cylindrical burners were created and tested. On the basis of the conducted research, designs of catalytically stabilized gas burner devices for domestic and industrial boilers with a capacity of up to 0.25 MW were proposed and developed, and their tests were carried out on the stand that was the KAOM-0.5 boiler unit with a capacity of 0.5 MW. During the test, a stable level of formation and emissions of nitrogen oxides was obtained, which was: NOx = 8 ppm (at a=1.05, while CO = 0 ppm). A boiler for apartment heating using a catalytically stabilized gas burner device is proposed. It has been proven that the introduction of catalytically stabilized burners guarantees stable and energy-saving operation of boilers in the entire range of power loads and that the efficiency of a boiler with a catalytic burner depends very little on its load, which allows it to work efficiently in a very wide range.
