Registration Date 13-02-2024 Organization Bogomolets Institute of Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  Based on experimental data assessing the impact of hypoxia on sodium, potassium, and calcium conductivity, alongside intracellular free calcium dynamics, a computational model rooted in the Hodgkin-Huxley formalism was developed. This model was utilized to investigate alterations in the activation function of neuronal models and the rhythm of their generation amidst hypoxic variations in ion conductivity parameters. The model accurately replicates phenomena observed in biological neurons, including non-rhythmic generation of AP (action potentials), a lowered AP generation threshold, susceptibility to inhibition in impulses generation when exposed to substantial input currents, and validates the recovering of rhythmic neuronal generation through the obstruction of calcium influx.
