A list of key population parameters as a basis for applied population monitoring is also defined. Field research has been started to obtain data on the structural and functional organization of populations of model species. Throughout research, the population is considered as a natural-historical unit, which is characterized by a special gene pool, as a structural part of a biological species, separated from other similar structures by geographical or biotic barriers; as an elementary evolutionary unit in which the evolutionary process is determined by genetic isolation; as an ecological unit with special group properties caused by joint reactions to changing environmental conditions. The main factors determining the population dynamics of plant species of the Red Book of Ukraine in the territories of the nature reserve fund are restorative post-anthropogenic succession (demutation) and climatic changes.
