The purpose of the work is to develop a methodology for the forensic investigation of altered light petroleum products, based on the relationship between their composition and the dynamics of changes over time. Research methods - analysis, generalization, synthesis, physical and chemical analysis, gas-liquid chromatography - mass spectrometry. Theoretical and practical results - the relationship between the component composition of altered light petroleum products and the time during which these changes took place was established, the existing approach to identifying classification features when establishing the affiliation of a highly altered petroleum product, including in their mixtures, was improved, the methodology of forensic investigation of altered petroleum products was developed light petroleum products. The novelty consists in the development of a complex of different research methods of altered light petroleum products, based on the relationship between their composition and the dynamics of changes over time as an object of expert research.
