The purpose of the work is to develop a method of forensic veterinary examination of a living sub-expert animal. Research methods: methods of logic (dialectical, formal-legal, system-structural analysis, logical-grammatical, modeling, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction); general cognitive methods (description, observation, measurement, statistical, modeling), separate methods (forensic photography, radiodiagnostic methods, ultrasonographic, hematological, biochemical studies), special methods (the function of a special method of forensic veterinary examination of animal corpses is performed by methods of intravital clinical forensic veterinary diagnostics), as well as a method of generalizing expert practice. Theoretical and practical results: the practice of forensic veterinary examination of live sub-expert animals with signs of damage of various genesis was analyzed; formulated, systematized and substantiated stages of the procedure for organizing and conducting a forensic veterinary examination of live sub-expert animals; the methodological foundations of the forensic-veterinary research of animal organ systems are argued; the approaches to the application of basic and additional instrumental and laboratory methods of research of living sub-expert animals are substantiated; the features of the structure of the expert's conclusion based on the results of the forensic-veterinary examination of live sub-expert animals are formulated and determined; the conducted studies were summarized by developing the "Methodology of the forensic veterinary examination of a live sub-expert animal".
