New results in the realm of the history of the Ukrainian and other Slavic and European languages, contemporary historical and typological linguistics, general linguistics are obtained. The results of our work were presented in 29 scientific articles, etymological vocabulary and 1 defended theses. Historical and contemporary methods, structural, psycholinguistics, discourse-analysis methodology are applied. A significant part of the completed and planned future scientific projects of the department is of an international nature. A number of scientific works have been published in various editions; it is important that, in addition to graduate students, students are actively involved in the department's research work, in particular, the materials of the scientific conference of students, graduate students and young scientists "Language Space of the Modern World" are published every year.
