Properties were studied and polymer components were selected in order to develop safe formaldehyde-free antibacterial systems for processing textile materials of various raw materials and purposes using polyhexamethyleneguanidines as the main antimicrobial agents. The effectiveness of the use of glycidyl ethers as crosslinking agents has been proven, providing an increase in the resistance of the effect to washing. On the basis of calculations of structural and thermodynamic parameters of polymers, polyorganosiloxanes capable of increasing the degree of crosslinking of the polymer composition have been determined, which perform the function of substances that effectively reduce the surface energy of textile materials, while ensuring an increase in the antimicrobial effect, including before washing. The technology of fixing polyhexamethyleneguanidines on fibers using formaldehyde-free binders has been developed. The application of zinc oxide nanoparticles, synthesized by a simple resource-saving method, in the composition of polymer-colloidal, environmentally safe finishing compositions for the final treatment of fabrics is proposed. Using the disk method, the antimicrobial activity of samples of textile materials treated with composite compositions containing polyhexamethyleneguanidines and zinc oxide nanoparticles as antimicrobial agents was determined.
