The object of the study is the forces and means of engineering support for concealing the activities of troops (forces) and objects from the enemy's reconnaissance and guidance means, countering the enemy's instrumental reconnaissance means based on modern means of camouflage. The purpose of the work is to ensure the effectiveness of measures to increase the survivability and safety of troops (forces) and facilities. Investigated: engineering support measures to counteract the enemy's reconnaissance means and hide unmasking signs of objects and weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during their locational observation in various parts of the spectrum of electromagnetic waves; technical capabilities of the enemy's reconnaissance means for detecting objects and weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces; physical principles of lowering the locational contrast of objects and weapons and military equipment. The materials of the report can be used: in the development of guiding documents regarding the implementation of measures of masking, concealment and imitation of troops and objects in weapons and military equipment; in the work of headquarters during the planning of measures to ensure the safety of personnel, weapons, military equipment and other important military objects; in the entrance of conducting classes with cadets and trainees of higher military educational institutions.
