Registration Date 22-02-2024 Organization State Institute "Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" popup.description2  The object of the study: contractures of large joints of the limbs as a result of immobilization after extra-articular fractures of long bones. Purpose: To study the effect of low-frequency vibration on the restoration of joint mobility after long-term immobilization and to develop an algorithm of recommendations to prevent the formation of immobilization contractures. Methods: biomechanical, mathematical modeling, radiological, statistical. Theoretical and practical results: A conceptual model of the formation of immobilization contractures of joints and the concept of the effect of low-frequency local vibration on restoring their mobility were developed. The degree of changes in the musculo-tendinous elements of the muscles responsible for the movements of the elbow and knee joints was determined. The torques of the joints are determined and the maximum possible forces that can be applied to the joints at the beginning of their rehabilitation development are determined, which should not exceed 2 Nm. The analysis of the data of the vibration development of immobilization contractures of the elbow and knee joints was carried out, the algorithm for carrying out rehabilitation measures was developed and improved. Novelty: New designs of stretchable orthoses for the treatment of human elbow and knee joint contractures have been developed, which are protected by relevant patent documents. New structural features of the developed structures expand the therapeutic and functional capabilities, as well as increase the comfort and reliability of its use. Effectiveness of implementation: The new knowledge obtained can be used to improve the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with immobilization contractures. The use of a complex of vibration development of joints will allow to significantly reduce the time of restoring the mobility of the joints, and in some cases to completely restore the functionality of the joint of the damaged limb.
