The purpose of the work is to solve urgent problems of automobile and electric transport, such as the functioning of transport enterprises, analysis of features and the influence of operating conditions on their technical condition, the choice of rolling stock, the determination of the consumption of electrical energy for the efficiency of vehicles. The method of determining the real specific consumption of electricity during the operation of the electric bus and substantiating the capacity of the traction battery (TAB) to ensure the term of its use with a given probability for operation on a route of a known length is proposed. The shares of electrical energy recovery by vehicles with electric traction units powered by a contact network have been studied. The share of energy consumption accounted for by heating and air conditioning systems in the total amount of energy consumption for the own needs of a class I vehicle with an electric traction unit and the laws of distribution of these values were determined. Establishing the optimal ratio between the organization of own production and the use of subcontractors, depending on the size of the vehicle fleet and operating conditions in a particular enterprise, is an important task.
