According to archival materials of the Department of Forensic Medical Examination of corpses of the Kharkiv Regional Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination for 2020–2021, a list of the main methods by which the expert determines the time of death has been established. The main shortcomings of the existing methods for determining the age of death are indicated. The ways of further improvement of the determination of the time of death by means of examination of the uterus and prostate gland have been determined. The nature of the morphological changes of the uterus and prostate gland at different time intervals after the onset of death was established. An algorithm for identifying and substantiating the forensic diagnostic criteria for determining the time of death during examination of the uterus and prostate gland has been developed.
