In order to achieve this aim, a complex of research techniques was used, including geological, lithological, mineralogical, geochemical, paleontological, stratigraphic, paleogeographical, paleoecological, paleoclimatic, paleogeographical methods, with the use of formation, facial analysis and the sequence stratigraphic approach. Various GIS tools were used to develop geological and genetic models of objects in the perspective geological formations, in particular, ArcGIS Esri, QGis, as well as Rock Works15, EasyTrace 7.99 Pro, MapInfo Professional and Golden Software Surfer. The importance of the research is determined by the need to study the substantiation of the parameters of the formation of the mineral resource base in the current economic conditions, sustainable use of subsoil, ensuring the resource aspects of national security and development of the mineral resource base of Ukraine, analysis of the mineral resource base of Ukraine from the standpoint of criticality and strategicity of certain types of minerals, adaptation of the methodology for determining critical types of minerals developed for the EU to the current economic conditions of Ukraine. Part of these issues will be resolved by the implementation of this topic in the applied aspects of its development and application. Datasets of primary information were created and the first iterations of conceptual models of pilot objects of critical/strategic mineral raw materials (titanium ores, manganese ores, potassium salt, hydrocarbon raw materials and groundwater) were developed on their basis.
