Today, Ukrainian enterprises that manufacture flax-containing products have become import-dependent, as this raw material is imported only from abroad. The restoration of raw textile resources in Ukraine plays a strategic role in the formation of the Ukrainian market for competitive eco-products. Given that flax products are of great benefit to humanity, there is a growing interest in oil flax as a dual-use crop (seeds, fibers) both globally and in Ukraine. To revive the industry, a number of measures need to be taken to increase production volumes. These include increasing the area under crops, developing breeding and seed production, improving soil fertility, and introducing mechanization of flax sowing, harvesting, and processing. At the same time, high results can be achieved if the type of flax, variety, tillage methods, fertilizer application methods and their composition, mechanical primary and secondary processing, quality assessment and control of both raw materials and finished products, as well as finishing processes are well chosen. In other words, a systematic approach should be taken to organizing the process of growing and processing this crop in order to produce products for various functional purposes. Therefore, the materials presented in the publications during the period of the research work are relevant, of national economic importance and are of research and practical interest for scientists, technologists and engineers involved in the primary processing of flax raw materials and assessment of its quality.
