Registration Date 23-03-2024 Organization Institute of Marine Biology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  The researchobject is the shore-sea contact zon ecological state of the Azov-Black Sea ecosystems (ABSE). The purpose of the work is to assess the impact of anthropogenic pollution and eutrophication of the shore-sea contact zone on the formation of the ABSE ecological state. Research methods are field, hydrological-hydrochemical, chemical-analytical, toxicological, molecular-genetic. On the basis of many years research, the mechanisms of formation of the hydrochemical regime of the shoresea contact zone and the influence of N, P, Si substances on its ecological state have been determined. An analysis of the water salinity variability as a basic ecological factor for marine ecosystems was carried out. An increase in salinity in the Odesa region of the Black Sea in the coming decade is indicated. It was determined that the main source of Black Sea pollution is the flow of the Danube. A further increase in pollutant concentrations is predicted. Contamination of the sandy beaches of the Odesa agglomeration with microplastics showed that the content of plastic particles reflects the work of seaports. Proposed xenobiotic load assessment on the shore-sea contact zone using indicators of accumulation of heavy metals by conturobiont organisms. The gross content of heavy metals in the organisms of the shore-sea contact zone and the corresponding accumulation coefficients are a more informative indicator of the sea coast pollution with accessible forms of metals than the concentration of pollutants in bottom sediments and water. An assessment of the load on the coast-sea zone using the heavy metal accumulation indicators by contourobionts is proposed. The toxic resistance of the sandy beaches interstitial meiofauna to crude oil was assessed. The main processes determining biological pollution and invasion of alien organisms in the Black Sea basin were clarified. The results will contribute to the introduction of new approaches to the ABSE coastal-sea contact zone study. Product Description popup.authors Bogatova Yuliia I. Verba Liudmyla M. Hazetov Yevhen I.
