The goal is to improve the structure and content of training programs for physical training of cadets of higher military educational institutions through the use of selective military applied sports. Scientific tasks: analysis and generalization of the existing practice of organizing physical training classes in higher military educational institutions of leading countries; substantiation of directions for improvement of physical training of cadets of various specialties of the Air High School of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (GF of AFU) due to the use of selective military applied sports; substantiation of the content and development of training programs on physical training using selective military applied sports for cadets of high schools of the GF of AFU; experimental verification of the effectiveness of the use of the developed training programs on physical training in the educational process of cadets of high schools of the GF of AFU regarding the formation of their general and special physical fitness, functional and professional readiness. In the research work, the actual scientific and applied task of improving the organization and content of physical training, which provides an effective training process for third- and fourth-year cadets of higher military educational institutions with the use of selective military applied sports, was solved. Studies related to determining the effectiveness of programs to improve the physical fitness of cadets have proven that the proposed content of classes according to the developed programs allows to significantly improve indicators of general and special physical qualities.
