Mechnikov National University popup.description2  A small-sized module of a non-contact optical-electronic barrier sensor (OBS) was developed and created, in accordance with the requirements of the Customer's Terms of Reference. The sensor detects the target object under the influence of various obstacles of natural and artificial origin and generates an electrical signal to control the electrodetonator at a given distance. Conducted studies of location methods and principles enabled to create a non-contact infrared laser sensor. The OBS forms probing pulses in the target direction and, on the basis of developed algorithms, carries out their processing in the optical-electronic sensor system. In accordance with the theme developed by the performers and the test program approved by the Customer, OBS ground operational testing samples was carried out in the "Sensors and Recording Systems" laboratory of the Odessa National University named after I. I. Mechnikov. An experimental laboratory test of the OBS operational efficiency in conditions as close as possible to reality was carried out on a designed and manufactured tabletop test complex, which is a measuring and modeling installation that performs physical simulation of discontinuous disturbances, fog, rain, white and black smoke, as well as powerful impulse and constant light disturbances (illumination) with a luminous flux of the order of 11,000 Lm. The results of laboratory tests, i.e., the experimental work-out of OBS experimental samples, confirmed the full compliance of OBS parameters with the requirements of the TT, regarding resistance to external influences. Based on the test results, it was concluded that there is no list of critical comments on the OBS schematic design development and, accordingly, there is no need to finalize the design recommendation set.
