The purpose of the research is to develop an electronic atlas using modern information technologies and place it on a web-based geoportal. The research methods are mathematical analysis, system analysis, geographic information modeling, cartographic, GIS analysis. The atlas displays the main meteorological and climatic measures: solar radiation, air temperature, heat waves and sudden temperature changes, precipitation and wind strength and power. The influence of the latter can be traced on a number of water resources maps: snow cover and avalanches, river flow modules, as well as on several hydrochemical indicators.The atlas has a clearly expressed scientific and practical orientation and can serve as a practical guide in the operational work of hydrometeorological and environmental services, organizations that use hydrometeorological information in their work, as well as students, graduate students and teachers of branch educational institutions and a wide range of readers.The prepared atlas makes it possible to more effectively use a variety of hydrometeorological information for the development of scientific projects, to improve the operational service of interested organizations, and to solve a number of other practical tasks. This is a fundamental cartographic encyclopedic work of the national level. The atlas has a multifunctional structure that reflects all the features of the hydrometeorological system of Ukraine. The atlas presents past, present, and future (forecast) hydrological and meteorological values, as well as patterns of their distribution on the territory of Ukraine, in a cartographic form.
