Recommendations are given on the choice of the particular technology and equipment appropriate for scanning the aircraft components of various types. A design-and-technological analysis of the aircraft structural components was carried out. Their typical damages were analyzed. The choice of structural components that restoration is the most efficient by the methods of reverse engineering in field conditions is justified. The analysis of the analytical and information sources, which contain the ontology of operations as to restoration in the system of rapid manufacturing and repair, was performed. An ontological decision support system regarding the selection of nanomaterials for improving the quality of the contacting surfaces of parts to be repaired has been created. An approach to solving the problem of virtual localization while the processing of metal near shape workpieces for the aircraft parts is proposed, which allow to increase economic efficiency of processing by reducing the allowance to be cut and to shorten the general cycle of those parts production. Recommendations are provided as to reproducing the geometry of the object using scanning methods with minimizing the necessary time but ensuring the sufficient quality. It’s shown the prospects and relevance of further research on the implementation and use of reverse engineering, additive technologies and the CNC processing while manufacturing as well as renewing the aircraft and their structural components, which can also be applied on the samples provided by foreign partners or trophy ones, to solve problems of import substitution and strengthening of Ukraine's defense capabilities.
