The scientific novelty. The results of numerous studies have confirmed the performance and effectiveness of the proposed schematic solutions, principles and algorithms for the operation of hydro-wind PS with an asynchronous and synchronous generator and energy storage, which allows them to be recommended for implementation. Using the developed static model of the asynchronous generator with the “delta”-connected stator windings and three-phase AC/DC converter, for the first time characteristics of the generator for single-phase load and P-balancing algorithms (with active currents of AC/DC converter) and Q-balancing (with reactive currents of AC/DC converter) of generator currents were compared. When comparing these algorithms, it was found out that the algorithm of Q-balancing is characterized by significantly lower values of the converter currents in the nominal mode (by more than 40%) if the balancing is carried out exclusively in the range of large and medium loads. This makes it possible to conclude that it is advisable to use it for balancing in a limited load range. The practical novelty is in formulated, according to the results of studies, recommendations for coordination of functioning and choice of parameters of the block diagrams of algorithms of operation of control systems of energy storage system, dump load and regulator of the wicket gate of the hydroelectric unit allowing to keep electrical frequency within +/- 2.5% range in transients for autonomous operation, which is acceptable for autonomous power systems. These guidelines and the simulation models for research make it possible to ensure sustainable operation and accelerate the design of combined power systems. Implementation.
