Equipment: tables for visometry, automatic sign projector, synoptophore, autorefractometer. Scope of the study: investigation and treatment of amblyopia was carried out in 96 patients with amblyopia with different types of hypermetropic astigmatism at the age of 5 to 14 years. Results. The proposed method of ocular correction of astigmatism is different in that the value of the combination of the spherical and cylindrical correction components and their axis is determined from the data of the monocular, binocular, meridional, nonius oral visual acuity, within which monoocular and binocular central visual acuity has the greatest values. After adaptation to full optical correction, visual acuity characteristics in orthogonal meridians improve statistically significantly in both leading and paired eyes. It was proven for the first time that the optical-reflector method of accommodation training can reduce or eliminate asymetries of visual acuity in the orthogonal meridians of the retina, allowing to increase the number of patients with symmetric indicators of nonius and separable visual acuity. According to the minimum separable criterion, the number of eyes with the same visual acuity in the orthogonal meridians of the retina increased by 8.5%, and according to the minimum deformable criterion, by 15.1%. For the first time it was proven that the application of complex methods provides a more expressed therapeutic result as a method of treatment of meridional amblyopia.
