The purpose of the study is to improve the quality requirements for firefighter's special protective equipment and to develop a draft of the relevant national standard of Ukraine. Research methods - analysis of the domestic and foreign regulatory framework, guidelines and technical documents, information brochures, manuals, reference books, test reports and other literary sources, information from the Internet, generalisation and integration of results from different sources, experimental method of determining the dependence of the burner heat flux density on the distance to the heat flux sensor. According to the decision of the Rescue and Emergency Response Section of the SES Scientific and Technical Council of 20 March 2024, it was decided to suspend this work due to the lack of funding for 2024 to purchase the necessary materials and equipment to create a test bench, which makes it impossible to carry out this work. A memorandum on the suspension of the research work is provided in Appendix B. The minutes of the meeting of the Section on Rescue and Emergency Response of the Scientific and Technical Council of the SES of Ukraine on the suspension of the research work are provided in Appendix C. In connection with the above, the following work was carried out: the creation of a test dummy was substantiated; the parameters and number of heat flow sensors installed on the test dummy were substantiated; the parameters and number of burners required for reproducible flame flash exposure were substantiated; experimental studies were carried out to determine the dependence of the burner heat flux density on the distance to the heat flux sensor.
