The purpose of the work is to develop a methodology for establishing the taxonomic affiliation of animal hair, morphological study of the structure of animal hair in order to determine its taxonomic affiliation with the help of light microscopes and a scanning electron microscope, improvement of existing methods for the study of objects of forensic examination, development of a methodology for forensic examination of the elemental composition of tissues of biological origin (animal hair, which is most often found in expert practice) using nuclear-physical methods of analysis of small samples, differentiation of animal hair according to the quantitative content of macro- and microelements. Novelty - for the first time, a method of establishing the taxonomic affiliation of animal hair using modern research methods has been developed, which opens up new opportunities for their research. The application of these research methods makes it possible to identify additional objective criteria during the comparative study of material evidence - animal hair, which contributes to the solution of a larger range of issues raised during the appointment of a forensic biological examination. Effectiveness of implementation – the developed methodology will significantly increase the level of forensic biological examination. The field of use is forensic expert activity.
