Purpose - to determine the regularities of changes in the parameters of thermal processes and stress-strain state in glass elements of building envelopes under the conditions of thermal impact of fire as a scientific basis for the development of standardised calculation methods for assessing their fire resistance. Analytical, experimental and experimental-calculated methods were used to identify the regularities of the behaviour of building envelopes with glass elements in fire conditions. Mathematical statistics methods were used to process the results of experimental studies and to establish the adequacy of the results obtained by experimental and theoretical means. To build mathematical models for predicting the behaviour of enclosing structures with glass elements, the method of planning a full-factor experiment was used. The paper develops and tests a programme and methodology for experimental research of enclosing structures with glass elements based on their fire tests to study temperature and deformation parameters under the influence of a standard fire temperature regime, and shows its effectiveness. For the first time, the temperature dependencies of the thermophysical characteristics of glass elements of building envelopes and the patterns of critical temperatures and deformations were established.
