The subject of research is the newest bioecological methods of melioration of artificial reservoirs and hydrotechnical structures. The purpose of the work is to increase the effectiveness of biological and ecological methods of reclamation of artificial water bodies for the safe and uninterrupted operation of strategic objects. Research methods: hydrochemical, chemical-analytical, hydrobiological, ichthyological, physiological, statistical. The scientific report contains: a description of the ecological state of the water environment of the Saksagan River, the cooling reservoir of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, the Kakhovsky Reservoir, and technical channels that are exposed to biological obstacles are presented. The species composition and biological indicators of species that create biological obstacles have been established. A complex of biomelioration measures has been developed, which are based on the trophic regularities of the functioning of hydroecosystems, where each lower level of its trophic chain is a potential fodder link for a higher trophic level. Targeted management of such a food chain by introducing ameliorative hydrobionts into reservoirs will allow solving the problem of mass development of species that form bioobstacles. Methodical and technical developments based on practical experience have become: a universal system of biological monitoring of the ecological state of man-made reservoirs, which can be used during biomonitoring of reservoirs, canals, ponds, cooling reservoirs of nuclear and thermal energy facilities; practical recommendations for the introduction of ameliorative hydrobionts into reservoirs for effective control of bioobstacles.
