Based on the results of the research work, the theoretical and legal foundations of the rule of law were investigated, its state and prospects for development in Ukraine were revealed. The historical prerequisites for the formation and conceptual design of the rule of law as a fundamental legal principle have been specified. A theoretical substantiation of modern approaches to the content of the rule of law, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as the relationship between themselves, as well as analysis and specification of the relationship between the rule of law and the rule of law in the context of the interaction of civil society and the rule of law based on the principles of the rule of law, has been carried out. The obtained scientific and theoretical results and conclusions created the necessary basis for substantiating proposals for improving the legal mechanism for establishing the principle of the rule of law in Ukraine, as well as determining the prospects and main directions of reforming the legal system of Ukraine on the basis of the rule of law.
