Purpose - theoretical substantiation and development of theoretical and methodological foundations for designing and using an immersive cloud-based university educational environment. Research methods: theoretical analysis, generalization of pedagogical experience, modelling of educational systems. The current state of the use of cloud and immersive technologies in higher education institutions is analyzed, the principles of designing an educational environment based on them are substantiated, and a metamodel of an immersive cloud-oriented educational environment is developed. The conceptual, methodological and methodological principles of designing an innovative educational environment using virtual, augmented reality and cloud computing technologies are substantiated. The scientific novelty of the results obtained is the theoretical substantiation and development of the IHOS metamodel, identification of its components, identification and systematization of criteria for selecting cloud and immersive technologies for the university educational process. The study's practical significance is the development of methodological recommendations for the design of immersive educational resources, including AR applications and VR simulators. The created educational applications can be used to develop the professional competencies of future IT professionals and teachers. The study's socioeconomic significance is to increase future professionals' competitiveness in the labour market by training them in an adaptive, high-tech educational environment.
