One of the effective institutions in the system of international (European) human rights protection is the European Court of Human Rights, the practice of which (together with the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms) in accordance with national legislation is a source of national law. At the same time, statistical data on the number of appeals to the Strasbourg court from persons under the jurisdiction of Ukraine indicate a tendency for Ukraine to retain its position in the top three states with the largest number of applications. The purpose of the research work is comprehensive coverage of doctrines on the protection and protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of participants in criminal proceedings and their implementation in the criminal procedural legislation of Ukraine.
