Purpose - to theoretically substantiate and develop theoretical and methodological foundations for the design and use of an immersive cloud-based university educational environment. Research methods - theoretical (analysis, synthesis, modelling, generalisation) and empirical (survey, testing, peer review, pedagogical experiment). Results and novelty - the principles of designing an immersive cloud-based university educational environment, a metamodel of such an environment, a system of models for its design and development, a modernised system of digital competencies of future teachers, pedagogical conditions and methods for using immersive technologies in the training of specialists, a system of immersive cloud-based mobile learning tools have been theoretically substantiated and developed. The main characteristics and indicators are a single system of authorisation and access; integration of different platforms and services; personalisation of learning; development of professional and digital competences; support for collaboration and communication of subjects. Relationship to other works - continues and develops research in the field of designing cloud-oriented environments and implementing immersive technologies in education, performed at the Institute of Information Technologies and Learning Tools of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. Information on implementation - the project results have been implemented in the educational process of the State University "Zhytomyr Polytechnic" and Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University.
