On the basis of the analysis, the concepts of "urbanization", "urbanized territory", "urbanization processes", and "conceptual model" are characterized. The author presents a conceptual model of urbanization processes in the post-war period in order to ensure the planning of long-term measures for the restoration of cities after the end of the armed conflict and to promote sustainable development of territories. According to this model, three states of the system are distinguished, namely: safe, provided that urbanization processes are carried out efficiently and safely; dangerous in case of potential threats and risks associated with urbanization processes during external aggression; critical if the situation requires immediate remedial measures. In the process of developing a conceptual model of urbanization processes in the postwar period, it is advisable to take into account the impact of key elements on urban development. It is stated that the development of a conceptual model of urbanization processes in the post-war period is an important task, since it helps to understand what decisions should be made in a given situation in order to effectively manage and level out negative urbanization processes in the context of special periods of functioning and development of cities. It is noted that further research on this issue should focus on the following areas: studying the relationship between the special period in the post-war period and the socio-economic development of cities in the long term; studying changes in urban infrastructure and population distribution as a result of external aggression; developing effective management models that take into account the peculiarities of urbanization in the post-war period.
