The subject of the study is the state, criteria and algorithm of legal protection of intellectual property during patenting and licensing of rights to scientific and technical products, which are being developed for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The purpose of the study is to develop proposals for ensuring a high-quality level of legal protection of intellectual property during patenting and licensing of rights to scientific and technical products developed for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Research methods - the main general scientific methods were used in the performance of the work, namely: analysis, synthesis, comparison and methods of statistical analysis. Defined: main criteria for evaluating intellectual property objects; the algorithm for taking measures regarding patent-licensing activities; directions for improving the efficiency of the patent-licensing process: 1. Definition of a clear patent strategy that corresponds to the company's business strategy and takes into account potential risks and opportunities. 2. Conducting research and analysis of the market and competitors to identify potential opportunities for technology commercialization. 3. Development of an effective system for managing license agreements and monitoring compliance with licensing conditions. 4. Constant monitoring of the use of patents and response to any violations. 5.
