The purpose of the work is to develop recommendations regarding the forecast of fire spread deep into the massif using the assessment of thermophysical properties of coal and rocks. Research methods – analysis and generalization of literary data, conducting experimental studies to determine the thermophysical properties of solid materials, theoretical studies based on the methods of mechanics of continuous media and gas, calculations according to standard methods. As a result of the work, experimental studies of the thermophysical properties of moisture-saturated coal samples taken from layer C6 of the eastern drainage section No. 2 (PC-164 and PC 173) of the «Yuvileyna» mine of the PE "MINE MANAGEMENT "Pershotravenske" PJSC "DFEK Pavlogradvugillia" were carried out. A methodology for predicting the spread of fire in a coal seam has been developed, taking into account its thermophysical properties and heat transfer to the surrounding rocks and the produced space. Important thermophysical parameters have been obtained and geotechnical factors have been determined that affect the temperature regime of heat transfer along the reservoir, as well as heat transfer into the produced space and into the host rocks. Recommendations have been developed regarding the forecast of the spread of fire deep into the massif using the assessment of thermophysical properties of coal and rocks for the «Yuvileyna» mine of the PE "MINE MANAGEMENT "Pershotravenske" PJSC "DFEK Pavlogradvugillia".
