The principles of construction and implementation of complex optimization models for consistent substantiation according to the hierarchical subordination of regime, technological and constructive decisions in their interrelation are developed. In this case, each subsequent optimal solution is determined taking into account the previous solution. It is scientifically substantiated that drainage modules and water supply modules and their parameters are determining factors and the main condition for the realization of system optimization models, parameters of basic technical elements and drainage systems, their formation and distribution laws for variable natural-agro-ameliorative conditions of the real objects. On the basis of system optimization the following methods of substantiation are improved: calculated values of drainage modules and water supply modules according to modern technical, technological, economic, and ecological requirements; drainage parameters taking into account different technologies of deep loosening of drained mineral soils; optimal type, design, and parameters of existing gravity and polder drainage systems, as well as their main technical elements. According to these methods, the technology of designing drainage systems has been improved. Improvements have been made by combining and consistently implementing the main stages of evaluating their various parameters with basic design procedures.
