Zhadan, O. Zabuzhko, L. Kostenko, I. Kotliarevskyi, M. Kotsiubynskyi, Lesia Ukrainka, T. Prokhasko, V. Makhno, O. Honchar, T. Shevchenko, N. Yablonska, M. Zhuk, O. Dovzhenko, etc.). The purpose of the research is to identify patterns (and accidental appearances) of the rhetorical "world picture" in texts of Ukrainian literature with different genre codes (and directions), which is formed at the intersections between subject-object-addressee strategies and communication techniques. There is a need to develop such understudied concepts as discourse practice, communicative situation, communicative competence of utterance, and the discourse's correspondence to the communicative situation as a certain type of modality. Research methodology: contextual, structural-semiotic, typological, historical and literary, intertextual, method of receptive aesthetics, narrative, discursive and performative. It is proposed to consider the concepts of "communicative situation", "communicative competence of utterance" in accordance with the discourse of the communicative situation and as a certain type of modality; the concept of “mentative” is introduced into the literary circulation in the domestic literature, the mental nature of the writer's essay is argued, the existing classification of mentatums is supplemented in view of the specifics of the writer's essay as a discursive practice, the classification of the writer's essay of the second half of the 90s - early XXI century is proposed. XX century - the beginning of the XXI century according to the narrative and mentative organisation, a methodology for analysing creolised texts is proposed, the performative nature of the artistic work is substantiated.
