The subject of the study is the peculiarities of the prevention of criminal offenses at the state border of Ukraine. The purpose of the work is to generalize and solve the scientific and applied problem of developing theoretical and legal principles for the prevention of criminal offenses at the state border of Ukraine, determining the features of preventing certain types of criminal offenses at the state border of Ukraine, as well as scientific substantiation of ways to improve Ukrainian legislation in this area and practice its application. The theoretical and legal foundations of the study of criminal-legal and criminological support for the prevention of criminal offenses at the state border of Ukraine are analyzed. The legal status of the State Border Guard Service as a special subject of combating criminal offenses has been determined. The peculiarities of criminal liability for criminal offenses in the sphere of protection of the inviolability of state borders and criminal law aspects of prevention of smuggling of goods have been established. The legal basis for the use of coercive measures by military personnel and employees of the State Border Guard Service during countermeasures against criminal offenses at the state border of Ukraine has been defined.  The criminological characteristics of persons who commit criminal offenses in the sphere of protecting the inviolability of state borders and criminal offenders who have committed treason or disclosure of state secrets have been studied. Taking into account the conceptual issues of European integration in the field of prevention of criminal offenses at the state border of Ukraine, directions and measures for improving the legal regulation of countering threats to the inviolability of the state border in modern conditions of martial law have been determined.
