The aim of the study was to determine the current state of development of this topic in contemporary scientific literature. To achieve this goal, open systems for searching scientific publications such as Google Scholar and Arxiv were used. The analysis revealed that neural networks are widely used in non-destructive testing to address various tasks, such as defect classification, analysis of images obtained during testing, and analysis of results from thermal, visual, and radiographic testing. The use of neural networks in non-destructive testing can simplify the analysis of test results, increase the speed, and accuracy of analysis. This paper also examines the use of neural networks in various fields of non-destructive testing, focusing on various testing methods and their specifics. The analysis conducted allowed identifying the advantages of using neural networks in non-destructive testing and determining potential directions for further research in this area. This work was carried out as part of a project funded by a European grant under the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme of the European Commission, the second open competition "DIH-World - Accelerating the Deployment and Maturity of DIHs for the benefit of European SMEs", Grant Agreement Nº 952176. This topic is relevant and of practical value, as there has been very little research on automated control with a trained neuroregulator for multi-frequency eddy current non-destructive testing.
