The purpose of the work is to increase the efficiency and expand the possibilities of the technologies for the production of parts based on new methods of extrusion. Using the finite element method, models of the lateral extrusion process of parts with complex configurations have been developed. Experimental and simulation modeling showed the possibility of newly developed extrusion schemes, allowing the formation of complex parts with extensions of different configurations and placements, conical cups, as well as stepped flanges. The range of products obtained by lateral extrusion has been expanded with hollow and stepped processes, which are symmetrically and asymmetrically located relative to each other, as well as with oblique processes (feathers at an angle). Based on the results of direct measurements of friction forces during plastic deformation, the value of the friction coefficients was clarified. To check the adequacy of the models, a methodology was developed and experimental studies were carried out on extruding complex-profile parts.
