The purpose of the study – the purpose of the research is the development of scientific principles, mathematical models, and experimental methods of studying non-stationary processes in electromagnetic and electrotechnological systems of pulsed electromagnetic influence on electrically conductive and dielectric media using eddy currents and pulsed barrier discharge, development of mathematical models of electromagnetic systems with pulsed discrete-time control, as components of power supply systems of electrotechnological equipment. Research methods – experimental determination of the regularities of pulsed barrier discharge with the involvement of electrical, optical, spectral, and chemical research methods, mathematical modeling of electromagnetic fields in the system electromagnetic inductor-conductive medium, and mathematical modeling of transformer-key structures with impulse discrete-time control. The analysis of the existing mathematical models of the penetration of the electromagnetic field into the conductive medium under the condition of the manifestation of a strong skin effect was carried out, and the main directions of field diffusion research were determined. On the basis of integro-differential equations, a mathematical model of the non-stationary magnetohydrodynamic process in a heterogeneous medium for systems of electromagnetic influence on liquid metal has been developed. The conditions for the existence of a pulsed barrier discharge on the surface of an electrically conductive liquid in a homogeneous form have been investigated.
