The aim of the work is analysis of the influence of different methods of basic tillage on the agrophysical characteristics of chernozem soil during the cultivation of dye safflower in the forest-steppe of Ukraine. Research methods – general scientific, field experiments, laboratory, calculation and comparative, method of mathematical statistics. The results of the study showed that the use of mouldboards tillage to a depth of 25-27 cm in the cultivation of dye safflower had an advantage over mouldboard tillage. Thus, the use of chisel tillage AGR-1.7 improved the structural condition of the 0–30 cm tilth layer of soil, increased yields by 0.09 t/ha, reduced energy consumption per unit of output, increased profitability by 12% and resulted in a higher net profit of UAH 11 780/ha, which is UAH 465 more than ploughing. Given these factors, no-till cultivation is a more efficient and cost-effective method for growing safflower in unstable moisture conditions The report presents the results of the research conducted by the Chair of Agriculture and Herbology named after O.M.
