The aim of the work is develop a method for the synthesis of compounds of purine alkaloids with polyoxometalates of molybdenum and tungsten and the study of inorganic substances for reagent treatment of drinking water. Research methods: thermogravimetry, elemental analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, theoretical and experimental studies using medicinal and technical chemistry and physicochemical analysis. The targeted synthesis of compounds of polyoxometalate anions with cations of purine derivatives (1,3,7-trimethylxanthine, 3,7-dimethylxanthine and 1,3-dimethylxanthine) was carried out. The presence of supramolecular bonds of the components, realised in the crystal structures of polyoxometalates with some organic cations, was established, which is an important aspect in the design and synthesis of new supramolecules. The process of chlorammonation and ammonisation for water disinfection, which does not require significant additional costs and has been successfully tested in the laboratory at a water treatment plant in one of the pumping and filtering stations in the Dnipro region.
