The subject of the study is a device with an electromagnetic drive for performing light industry operations. The purpose of the research is to develop the scientific basis for designing a device with an electromagnetic drive with adjustable speed of movement and force of impact of the working organs on the material being processed, based on the study of deformation and destruction of materials used in light industry, and mathematical modeling of the process taking into account the physical and mechanical properties materials and energy parameters of presses. Research methods. The problems and tasks defined in the work are solved using: theoretical provisions and methods of rheology, modeling of research objects; methods of theory of elasticity and plasticity; impact theory provisions; mathematical statistics and theory of experiment planning As a result of the research, mathematical models were developed for the selection of linear electric motors of press equipment, which increase their efficiency. The relationship between the energy of the impact and the parameters of the battery charge has been established, which allows optimizing the operation of the equipment. It was also determined that when cutting shoe materials at high speeds, effort and work are reduced, and the quality of the cut is improved.
