Purpose of work - comprehensive characterization of new organic dyes, in particular the determination of their non-stationary and nonlinear optical properties, as well as the development of new techniques for time-resolved diagnostics and the creation of original laser-induced structures. Results and their novelty - 1. The steady-state linear absorption, fluorescence, and excitation anisotropy spectra of the model squaraine dye 2,4-Bis[4-(N,N-diphenylamino)-2,6-dihydroxyphenyl]-squaraine and newly synthesied squaraines 2,4-Bis[4-[4-(3,5-didecoxyphenoxy)butyl-methyl-amino]-2,6-dihydroxy-phenyl]squaraine і 2,4-Bis[4-[6-(3,5-didecoxyphenoxy)hexyl-methyl-amino]-2,6-dihydroxy-phenyl]-squaraine were obtained, and their solvatochromic and concentration behavior was analyzed. The mutual orientation of the dipole moments of the transitions between the main electronic levels was determined. 2. A new method for measuring two-photon absorption spectra and a schematic diagram of an experiment to study the phenomenon of non-degenerate two-photon stimulated quenching of fluorescence dyes have been developed. 3. The nature of fast vibronic relaxations of squaraine molecules in liquid solutions at room temperature and their characteristic times have been determined. 4. Two-photon absorption spectra of squaraines have been obtained in a wide spectral range and the cross sections of optical stimulated transitions have been determined. 5. Characteristic emission spectra have been obtained during the formation of LIPPS in different polarizations, as well as LIPPS of different periods. The novelty of the results is that a technique for determining two-photon absorption cross-sections based on low-frequency loss-modulation technique was proposed for the first time.
